Fight financial crime
Most of the world's crime involves money. Drug cartels, organized crime, weapons sales, political corruption, and human trafficking all rely on money movement through our financial system. There's no better way to fight these criminals than to follow the money and choke off the profits.
Our mission at Hummingbird is straightforward: fight financial crime. We do this by helping financial institutions investigate suspicious behavior and report on it to law enforcement. We're a mission-driven company, and we're rethinking the practice of anti-money laundering.
Money laundered globally every year.
Less than 1%
Percent of money laundering that is caught.
Fines since 2008 for regulatory failings.
Founded in late 2016, Hummingbird combines regulatory expertise with modern product design and technology. We've worked as regulators with the OCC and examiners with the Treasury. We've built and shipped products with great organizations like Square, IDEO.org, and Circle. Our perspective helps us empathize with the challenges of our customers, and our skillset enables us to solve their problems with modern technology. We like to move fast, iterate, and improve.
The UN estimates that $1.6-2 trillion USD are laundered every year, but only a fraction of a percent is caught. The opportunity for improvement is enormous.
